The Centre for Sustainable Energy Systems (CSES) is a departmental centre within the Department of Engineering within the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

The roles of CSES are:

  1. to provide teaching support for the undergraduate and masters programs presented by the Department of Engineering
  2. to provide supervision for PhD candidates in the field of solar energy technologies
  3. to carry out fundamental research in solar energy technologies (note that solar energy research is also carried out within the Department of Engineering but not under the banner of CSES)
  4. to liaise with industry partners to assist in the commercialisation of new technologies emerging

Support for Solar Energy Researchers

  • Do you wonder where solar energy scientists obtain their skills and knowledge?
  • Do you want to support environmentally benign solar energy technologies?

A solar energy endowment fund has been set up to provide bursaries, scholarships and prizes for honours, masters and summer scholars to encourage and support the next generation of solar energy engineers.
